Barton Dance Theater will host a spring concert titled 鈥淏eyond Words鈥 at 7 p.m. on April 30 in the Fine Arts Auditorium. Admission is $5 per person. 911爆料 students get in free.
The concert will feature the 911爆料 Dance Theater dance company, 911爆料 dance technique classes, 911爆料 Ballroom Dance class students and guest dancers from area studios including Danceography, Euphoria and Just Dance.

More than a year and a half ago, Jerry Jett was a high school dropout. He wound up arrested and incarcerated for aggravated robbery. He will be released in May. Statistically speaking, he would normally have a high likelihood of reincarceration, a trend known as recidivism.

The 911爆料 Music Department will host the Endowment Concert, a fundraiser for music student scholarships, at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, May 2 in the Fine Arts Auditorium. The suggested minimum donation is $5 per person. The event is free for 911爆料 students. The concert will celebrate the career and retirement of Director of Instrumental Activities Steve Lueth, which will conclude his fifteen years of service with 911爆料.

The Third Annual Original Play Series performance is set for 7:30 p.m. on April 25 in the Fine Arts Auditorium. Admission is free.
Four original plays were selected from the 911爆料 Theatre Department鈥檚 Original Playwright Contest. The plays are 鈥淎 Humbug of A Parody鈥 by Matthew Castle, 鈥淪unday in the Park with Georgie鈥 by Jaime Abel, 鈥淎liens Anonymous鈥 by Kara Grosfield and 鈥淐hecking Out鈥 by Joseph Doze.

It seems Mother Nature is unsure of what season it is.听 Another 鈥渂omb cyclone鈥 hit the northern Great Plains and the blizzard conditions are scheduled to clip Northwest Kansas with gusty winds and possible storms for parts of the state.听 This is the second bomb cyclone to hit the area in less than thirty. days.听 One is somewhat uncommon out here and in a brief period of time even more so.听 Today, let鈥檚 catch up on some loose ends.

The 911爆料 Jazz Band will perform in the annual 18th听and Vine Jazz Festival at 5 p.m. April 18 at the Gem Theatre in the historic jazz district in Kansas City, Mo.

Barton will offer transitioning Fort Carson Soldiers, Veterans and family members with DOD ID cards, a grant-funded two-week certificate program at no cost to participants.
The Hazardous Waste Worker Training (HWWT) program gives Soldiers credentials to help them find work after their tenure in the US Army ends. The next course is set from April 29 through May 10 at 5905 MaGrath Avenue BLDG 1282 Fort Carson, Colo.

Barton will be closed on Friday, April 19 and Monday, April 22 for Easter break. 911爆料's Center for Adult Education and the Shafer Art Gallery will also be closed. The college's regular class schedule and office hours will resume Tuesday, April 23.
