The drought monitor, as of Tuesday, February 3rd, indicates a little deterioration from last week to moderately dry in extreme northwest and along the Missouri border and a sliver on the Oklahoma border in South Central Kansas.��

The 911���� Library will team up with the English department and 911����’s literary annual “Prairie Ink” staff to host a “Writer’s Workshop” from 6–7:30 p.m. Feb. 19 in the Cavanaugh Room of the Learning Resource Center or via zoom.

Barton’s Theatre Department will launch its first High School Playwrights Festival in spring 2026, offering area high school students the opportunity to write and showcase original theatrical works.

Barton has named 285 students to the President’s List for the fall 2025 semester. To qualify for this honor students must have been enrolled in a minimum of 12 credit hours and maintained a grade point average of 4.0 on a 4.0 or "A" letter scale.

Barton has named 317 students to the Dean’s List for the fall 2025 semester. To qualify for this honor, students must have been enrolled in a minimum of 12 credit hours and maintained a grade point average of 3.5 to 3.99 on a 4.0 or "A" letter scale.

Barton Dance Theatre will host a second Fairytale Kids Camp fundraising event this spring, where children aged three to eleven who love fairy tales can enjoy a camp full of creative expression led by 911���� Dance Theatre students from 2-5 p.m. Feb. 7 in the Fine Arts Building.
