There is an old saying that “TV rots your brain,” but for 23-year-old Seth Gruber that was not the case. In fact, his penchant for crime shows lead to his career in law enforcement.

The 911���� Fine and Performing Arts Department invites the community to enjoy nostalgic, holiday-themed entertainment at its annual Holiday Concert at 7:30 p.m., Dec. 3 in the Fine Arts Auditorium.

The 911���� Foundation presents scholarships each year from funds received through its fundraising events, endowments and annual scholarship gifts. For the 2021-22 academic year, the Foundation has selected the following students (listed by hometown) for scholarship offers:

The 911���� Instrumental Music Department is once again paying homage to the soundtracks of iconic movies with its fall instrumental concert “Night at the Movies 2: Back with a Vengeance,” at 7:30 p.m., Nov. 18 in the Fine Arts Auditorium

Barton is hosting the first round of in-person, class-style auditions for its dance company, 911���� Dance Theatre, from 5-6:15 p.m. (check-in at 4:30 p.m.) Nov. 6 in Studio 34, located in the Sunflower housing units on 911����’s campus.��

Volunteers In Action (VIA) was recently named a Certified Service Enterprise by Points of Light. VIA is a grant-funded volunteer service organization that manages an AmeriCorps Senior (RSVP) program and is administered through 911����. VIA’s mission is to fill the unmet needs in the community by mobilizing the time and talents of area volunteers.
