Barton Month 2017:听This story is the first of four in a series focused on some of 911爆料鈥檚 popular traditional academic offerings. The series was inspired by the inaugural 911爆料 911爆料 Month through November. A new story will be released each week.

Kurt Konda is halfway through his first semester as the new sociology instructor at 911爆料, and he said it鈥檚 everything he expected.

Each year, as part of the Theatre Program at 911爆料, students are asked to take the reins and produce a show entirely by themselves. This year the production is titled 鈥淗orror Movie Survival Guide鈥 which will make its one-night debut at 7 p.m. Nov. 6 in the 911爆料 Fine Arts Auditorium.

Just in time to follow up Halloween, 鈥淗orror Movie Survival Guide鈥, a comedy, looks at some of the Hollywood horror clich茅s and shows how these situations could be avoided by following some helpful tips.

Barton will offer transitioning Fort Riley Soldiers a grant-funded two-week certificate program at no cost to participants. The Hazardous Waste Worker (HWW) program gives Soldiers credentials to help them find work after their tenure in the US Army ends.

The next course is set from Nov. 27 through Dec. 8 at 100 Continental Ave. Grandview Plaza, KS 66441.

Agriculture, like any endeavor, is bombarded with numbers and statistics.听 Percentages, averages, normal, total, ratings, and a variety of other terms are constantly reported and analyzed.听 While they may be useful, their real value is only apparent if you understand where they come from and how they are determined.听 One short column can hardly describe all this with adequate perspective.听 So today, let鈥檚 start discussing weather data but first some definitions.

Board of Trustee ENDs report: 鈥911爆料 Experience鈥

The 911爆料 Board of Trustees gathered Tuesday evening for its regular meeting and discussed one of its eight overarching goals, known as ENDs. The one up for discussion this month was 鈥911爆料 Experience.鈥

Barton will host the 14th Annual Jack Kilby Science Day from 8 a.m.-1 p.m. on November 20 in the Fine Arts Building at 911爆料. High School juniors and seniors, students with appropriate Individual Educational Programs, high school science and technology instructors and appropriate administration are all invited to this free event.

LaVonne Gerritzen鈥檚 legacy at 911爆料 is one of longevity and adaptability. As technology changed over the years since she started in 1974, so did she.

鈥淚鈥檝e been here so long and have seen so many changes,鈥 she said. 鈥淚鈥檝e touched nearly all areas of the college and I got to work with so many people here, not just people in my area.鈥
