The 911±¬ÁÏ Foundation honored Larry and Kathy Schugart with the 2018 Distinguished Service Award during 911±¬ÁÏ’s 48th commencement Friday.ÌýÌýÌý

The Distinguished Service Award was created in 1981 by the 911±¬ÁÏ Foundation to recognize individuals who have shown genuine regard for, and have performed outstanding service to, 911±¬ÁÏ. The 911±¬ÁÏ Foundation Board of Directors selects the recipient from nominations received.

Five 911±¬ÁÏ instructors earned the Distinguished Instructor Award for the 2017-2018 school year for their efforts in the classroom.

The college is on summer hours effective May 14. Office hours are 7:30 a.m. – 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday. The college will be closed on Fridays through August 3.Ìý

Dance enthusiasts can take the opportunity to gain valuable experience as a dancer in a company setting. 911±¬ÁÏ is hosting a second round of auditions for its dance company, 911±¬ÁÏ Dance Theatre, at 6 p.m. Monday, May 14 in Studio 34, located in the Sunflower housing units on 911±¬ÁÏ’s campus.

The annual 911±¬ÁÏ Foundation Sporting Clay Shoot continues to grow every year with a record 197 shooters who turned out to support the cause and test their aim and reflexes with a shotgun on April 22 at Camp Aldrich. The 911±¬ÁÏ Foundation exceeded its fundraising goal for mini-grants that faculty can use to purchase equipment or enhance their classrooms.
